About Us

Chophi Rural Development Society (CRDS) is a Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organization that was founded by a group of farmers in Nagaland. Farmers from various spheres of life such as education, health and women activism are the members of the CRDS Board. CRDS was registered under Registration of Societies Act, 1860, Nagaland First Amendment Act 1969 in Nagaland on 24th January 2001 in the office of Registrar of societies, Home Department, Nagaland, Kohima.

The registered office of the organization is currently situated in District Dimapur. The CRDS comprises reputed Naga tribal communities belonging to Sumi Naga Tribes. Our society members are involved mainly in Agriculture and farming for self-sustenance of its members and in the promotion of rural people, particularly rural women community and for the welfare of children healthcare. Society has also taken up different programs such as rural development, welfare programs for community, society, and women, educational programs for the area development and promotion of rural people particularly the farmers; all these activities have undertaken from its resources.

The aim of the society is also to promote poor farmers and do other welfare programs for rural people especially the tribal poor classes through livestock farming, pig rearing and cultivation of vegetables, cash crops plantation, welfare programs for women. We want to establish women & care centers, women hostels for working ladies, residential schools for poor children; and for the establishment of the above-said programs we want to raise funds as much as possible.

Chophi Rural Development Society is registered with the Registrar of Societies under ACT 1860 ( Act- NO.1 of 2009 and the type of NGO is Registered Societies (Non-Government) and the Registration Number is H/RS-1532. The city and state of registration are Dimapur and Nagaland. Our Unique Id of VO/NGO is NL/2018/0220079. The date of registration is 24/01/2001.

The Society Managing Committee Board would like to thank various departments, professionals, business communities, the village council, District Administration, Town Committee, Students, Teachers and various Public leaders who have made all these programs throughout the years possible.

The Managing Committee Board urges students, public leaders, Parents to continually work hard with full courage and strength so that all these programs and proposed projects will be possible for the welfare of the Tribal people of our state and attain our objective.

Our Objectives

To help in the all-round development of deprived sections of the society particularly women and children belonging to the rural and urban communities through education, health, environment, social and economical development, irrespective of caste, creed, and religion.

Rural Development Program

Rural areas of Nagaland need development in agriculture, health, and education; our organization helps in rural development. The society has also conducted some seminars and workshop training on weaving, knitting, tailoring, cookeries, handicrafts, etc. for rural women classes within the area.
